More than a Street Art Festival
2021 saw the continuation of the 'Whanganui Walls' street art event. And with the borders closed to the rest of the world, it was a completely Kiwi Artist line-up.
Street Art, with its wide range of forms, is a true democratisation of art. There's no boundary or cost of entry. It's there for anyone who ventures to enjoy... if only for a time.
Being allowed an intimate behind the scenes of the process while the pieces unfolded and delving into the philosophy and backstory of the Artists and their works was inspiring to me as an artist.
We were tasked with filming the artists while they crafted their masterpieces, and delivering a 1 minute highlight of each of the days pieces as well as wrap video (below) of the whole event.
